What are the sick leave policies in Hong Kong?

Hong Kong has impressive sick leave policies. The employee is given paid sick leave if he or she has taken at least four consecutive days and has a viable medical certificate. Usually, 2 days of sick leave is given per month in the first year of employment and four days per month in the later years.

How do the maternal and paternal leave policies work in Hong Kong?

Female employees are given 14 days of paid maternity leave. Requirements for paid leave are stated below:

  • She must be an employee in that company for more than 40 weeks before the expected date of delivery.
